Logging in
AMS Control Panel allows for two methods of login that provide
different levels of access to features, depending on which method is used.
Account owner login
When you opened your account, you received an introductory e-mail from us with your
new account number. This account number, together with its password, is used
as your login credentials for
AMS Control Panel.
Account owners have full access to AMS Control Panel
Logging in with your account number identifies you as the account owner, and is called "owner login".
This gives you access
to all parts of AMS Control Panel, including information about your services, billing
information, access to contact person information, and more. Always log in with your
account number to gain access to all functionality.
User login
Logging in with the user name of a hosting package is called "user login". The user name
and password are the same as the FTP user name and password for that package.
User logins have limited access
User logins only have access to the features you explicitly allow, and they can only view
and manage their existing services. Additionally,
user logins never have complete access to AMS Control Panel. For instance, all billing and
service ordering functions are only available to owner logins. Only owners can set user permissions,
edit contact persons, and view or change other sensitive account information.
User logins are intended for people like your employees or customers, who need
access to tasks such as e-mail address management, but who shouldn't have access
to sensitive account information.
By default, user names do not have access to log in to AMS Control Panel. You must explicitly
grant access by
setting user permissions.
