Retrieving a lost password

You can retrieve your account number and its password to regain access to AMS Control Panel if you no longer have our welcome e-mail. You can reset FTP and e-mail account passwords using the AMS control panel.

Retrieving your account number and its password

To retrieve your account number and its password for full access to AMS Control Panel, click the Forgot your account number or password? link found on the login page, and follow the directions.

Only owners and administrators receive reminders

In order to retrieve your password, your e-mail address must be listed as a contact for the account, and you must have either the Owner role or Administrator role. The person who first opened the account automatically has both these roles assigned to them by default. For information about roles and how to change them, read Managing contact information.

Customers with multiple accounts

If you have more than one account for which your e-mail address is listed as a contact, the e-mail you receive will only contain those account numbers. Return to the Forgot your account number or password? link, and enter both your e-mail address and the relevant account number.

Retrieving your FTP user name and resetting your FTP password

If you've lost your FTP information, you can recover the user name and reset the password. You will not need to supply the old password in order to change it to something new.
  1. Log in as owner using your account number and its password.
  2. Click the "Change password" link under the "Main" category tab.
  3. Click the "Login name" drop-down selection list. Your FTP user name will be shown in the list, below the account number. If you have more than one hosting package in your account, there will be a separate FTP user name for each package.
  4. Select the user name whose password you wish to change.
  5. Enter a new password in the "New password" and "Re-type password" fields, and click "Save".
