Secure web pages

Using a shared SSL certificate, you can host secure web pages with your web hosting package. Secure pages are sent to web browsers in encrypted form, so that sensitive information can be transmitted safely.

Steps to host secure web pages using a shared SSL certificate

Follow the steps below to start hosting secure web pages using a shared SSL certificate. For information on what the certificate is and how it works, read Secure web pages under the "Enabling features" help category.
  1. Log in to AMS Control Panel as owner, or as a user with the "Activate package features" permission turned on.
  2. Click the "Features" category tab, then click the "Add secure folder" link at left.
  3. Select the user name associated with the website you want to add the secure folder for, and click "Finish". A confirmation screen appears.
  4. Upload the web pages you want to host securely into the folder called secure_html that now appears in your account. The folder is located in the root folder of your account, not inside your web documents folder, but adjacent to it.

Hosting secure web pages using a dedicated SSL certificate

You can also host secure web pages using a dedicated SSL certificate specifically for your website. To order this service, follow the steps under the heading "How to order an SSL certificate", in the Quick service management help article.
