Quick service management

This page lists step-by-step summaries for adding different kinds of services.

Always log in as owner

To complete any of the following steps, first log in to AMS Control Panel as owner, click the "Services" category tab, then click the "Manage services" link. Select the user name you want to manage services for.

How to add a domain registration and "Coming soon" page

  1. Select "Add a web site or domain names for this user", and click "Next".
  2. Select "Register one or more domains and set up a 'Coming soon' page", and click "Next".
  3. On the following screen, enter the domain names you want to register, one per line, and click "Next".
  4. Fill in the registration details on the following screens.

How to add a domain alias

  1. Select "Add a web site or domain names for this user", and click "Next".
  2. The options that appear on the following screen depend on the hosting package for this user name.

    If this user has the Net Image package:

    1. Select "Start web hosting services for one domain name", and click "Next".
    2. Enter the domain name, and select the appropriate option for registration.
    3. If you selected "This is a new domain name", enter the registration details on the next screen.
    4. On the screen labeled "How would you like to use this name?" select "Point it to an existing web site under this user", and click "Next".
    5. Select the website you want the alias to point to, and click "Next".
    6. On the next screen, you are asked to confirm your request. Click "Finish" to confirm, and submit your order.

    If this user has the Web Starter package:

    1. Select "Point a domain name to example.com" (where "example.com" will be replaced with your domain name), and click "Next".
    2. Enter the domain name, and select the appropriate option for registration.
    3. If you selected "This is a new domain name", enter the registration details on the next screen.
    4. On the next screen, you are asked to confirm your request. Click "Finish" to confirm, and submit your order.

How to add the "VirtualWeb" service

  1. Select "Add a web site or domain names for this user", and click "Next".
  2. Select "Start web hosting services for one domain name", and click "Next".
  3. Enter the domain name, and select the appropriate option for registration.
  4. If you selected "This is a new domain name", enter the registration details on the next screen.
  5. On the screen labeled "How would you like to use this name?" select "Host it using the VirtualWeb add-on service", and click "Next".
  6. On the next screen, you are asked to confirm your request. Click "Finish" to confirm, and submit your order.

How to add the "Net Image" or "Web Starter" package

Follow the steps under the heading "Adding a new web hosting package" in the Services and user names help article.

How to order an SSL certificate

  1. Select "Manage existing services for this user", and click "Next".
  2. Click the hosting service you want to add the SSL certificate to.
  3. Select "Add an SSL certificate for secure hosting", and click "Next".
  4. Select a certificate product, and enter an appropriate subdomain name for the secure website (for example, "secure", or "store").
  5. On the next screen, you are asked to confirm your request. Click "Finish" to confirm, and submit your order.

How to upgrade or downgrade a hosting service

  1. Select "Manage existing services for this user", and click "Next".
  2. Click the web hosting service you want to upgrade or downgrade.
  3. Select the appropriate action, either "Upgrade this web hosting service" or "Downgrade this web hosting service". (Note: one of these options may not be available, depending on the service type and whether or not you have other hosting packages in your account.)
  4. Select the service you want to upgrade or downgrade to.
  5. If the new service will be a domain alias, select the domain name to point to, and click "Next".
  6. If downgrading to a VirtualWeb service, select a user name to attach the service to, and click "Next".
  7. On the next screen, you are asked to confirm your request. Click "Finish" to confirm, and submit your order.

How to change the hosting platform for a package

  1. Select "Change the hosting platform for this user", and click "Next".
  2. On the next screen, you are asked to confirm your request. Click "Finish" to confirm, and submit your order.

How to cancel services for one item

  1. Select "Manage existing services for this user", and click "Next".
  2. Click the hosting service you want to cancel.
  3. Select "Stop all hosting services for this web site", and click "Next". (Note: this option may not be available for all services.)
  4. On the next screen, you are asked to confirm your request. Click "Finish" to confirm, and submit your request.
