Setting preferences

You can set preferences for the way you'd like to view your traffic reports, and for allowing others to log in to a special website to view them.

Steps to set traffic report preferences

  1. Log in to AMS Control Panel as owner, or as a user with the "Set web stats reports preferences" permission turned on.
  2. Click the "Web stats" category tab, then click the "Set preferences" link at left.
  3. Select a website to set preferences for, and click "Next". The screen shown below appears.

Preferred analyzer

The analyzer is the software used to analyze your web traffic logs, and generate reports. Select the analyzer you prefer. You can view sample output by clicking the "View sample" link next to each analyzer's name.

You can also choose to generate PDF documents of all the reports that are created. The PDF documents are available in the analysis reports list by clicking the PDF icon under the "Format" column.

Set an optional password for third-party access

This section lets you set up a password for access to your web stats without having to log in to AMS Control Panel. This is useful if you want to give access to web stats to a customer or employee without giving them access to AMS Control Panel. Check the box to enable this feature, then enter the password you want to set up.

To view the stats reports using third-party access, browse to http://stats.example.com, replacing "example.com" with your own website address. Enter your stats password in the field provided.

Send e-mail reports (Analog only)

This section will allow you to have statistics reports e-mailed to you, if you have selected "Analog" or "Analog with Report Magic" in the "Preferred analyzer" section. Check the box to enable this feature. You can select to receive weekly reports, monthly reports, or both. You can also select whether to receive summary reports or full reports for each.
