PHP 5.2.6 now available on Unix shared servers
PHP 5.2.6 is now installable via the AMS control panel on websites hosted on the Unix shared server platform.
PHP 4.4.8 also remains available. Please note that development of PHP 4 has officially ended as of 31-Dec-2007,
and no further releases of PHP 4 are planned by the PHP development team. See the
PHP 4 end of life announcement at the
PHP website.
For users upgrading from PHP 5.0 and 5.1 to PHP 5.2, there is an upgrading guide available
here, detailing the changes between those releases and PHP 5.2.

Incoming and outgoing mail servers now support encrypted (SSL) connections
To protect the privacy of customers' email account usernames, passwords, and email messages as they travel
over the Internet between the customer's computer and the mail server, we have implemented SSL security
on both incoming (POP3/IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) mail connections. Although use of SSL is optional,
we strongly recommend its use to all customers. We have updated our
email software setup instructions
with the additional SSL configuration steps.

Upcoming PHP upgrade on Windows servers
We will be updating PHP to version 5.2.3 on all Windows shared servers on July 28 and 29.
The vast majority of PHP scripts will continue to work unmodified on the
new PHP version. However, in a small number of very specific cases,
changes to PHP code may be required. If you are using a pre-written PHP
web application and are concerned about potential compatibility issues,
we recommend that you ensure you are running a recent version of your
application.
PHP programmers should consult the following website for information
on migrating code from PHP 5.0.x to 5.2.x:
