Billing notification and automatic charges

Billing notification is sent by e-mail to all contact persons on your account who have the "Billing" role.

How we notify you of new bills

Most customers receive notification of new bills through e-mail. Contact persons with the billing role will receive the new bill notification. To manage contact persons and assign roles, read Managing contact information. We notify billing contact persons strictly by e-mail, and cannot phone or otherwise contact you about your billing account. You must ensure that all your contact e-mail addresses are kept up to date.

If you do not have credit cards attached to your account

If you don't have credit cards attached to your account, your regular period bills are generated thirty days before your new billing period begins, and e-mail notification is sent to contact persons with the billing role. If payment hasn't been received, reminder e-mail is sent seven days and one day before the current period expires.

Automatic credit card charges

If you paid for your service using a credit card when you first ordered, the credit card information is securely stored, or "attached" to your account, for later use. You can permanently delete credit cards at any time by managing credit cards in AMS Control Panel.

If you keep a credit card attached to your account, it is automatically charged whenever a new bill is generated.

Quarterly periods

If your billing period is quarterly, your regular bills are generated seven days before your new period begins. Your credit card is automatically charged at the same time.

Semi-annual or annual periods

For semi-annual or annual billing periods, regular bills are generated thirty days before your new period begins, and contact persons with the billing role receive a new bill notification by e-mail. Seven days before the new period begins, your credit card is automatically charged.

Interim bills

For all periods, interim bills are charged to your credit card as soon as they are created. These are bills generated for any new service you order.

Declined credit card charges

If charges to your credit card are declined, contact persons with the billing role receive notification of the decline.

Preventing automatic credit card charges

If you don't want your credit card to be charged automatically, don't keep credit cards attached to your account. Instead, pay bills when you receive e-mail notification. You can make payments either by credit card (without attaching the card to your account), or by using another accepted form of payment.
