Almost all website publishing software uses FTP to get the files to the server.
You can use any software of your choice to publish your site, as long as it uses FTP.
Connection information
The only information you need is your website name, your FTP user name, and your FTP password. The website name is used as the hostname to connect to. Web design and development applications such as Dreamweaver, HomeSite, and Zend Studio all use this information to connect to the server and upload files. Enter the following information in your software to connect.| Hostname: | Your website name (such as www.example.com) |
