Sending and receiving e-mail
You may have issues with either sending e-mail or receiving e-mail when
using software such as Outlook.
If you can't send e-mail
First find out whether you are using your Internet Service Provider's outgoing (SMTP) mail server, or the Korax SMTP mail server. To find this information, follow the steps found in Setting up Outlook and other e-mail software. However, instead of creating a new e-mail account, check the existing account's properties to see which server has been entered.If you're using your Internet service provider's outgoing mail server
If you can receive e-mail but not send e-mail, contact your Internet service provider for assistance. The problem may be with their e-mail service.If you're using Korax' outgoing mail server
If you are using Korax' mail server as your outgoing mail server, make sure you entered mail.example.com in the outgoing mail server setting of your software, replacing example.com with your domain name. Important: Also make sure you have selected the option in your software to use SMTP authentication. Some Internet service providers block outgoing connections to any mail servers other than their own. If this is the case, you can use port 587 to connect to the Korax outgoing mail server, instead of the standard mail port 25. To do this in Windows Mail for Vista or Outlook Express for Windowx XP, follow these steps.- In the "Internet accounts" window, click the "Advanced" tab.
- Change the number in the field labeled "Outgoing mail (SMTP)" from the default value 25, to 587. Click "OK" to save your changes.
