Seeing your updates
After uploading your website or making changes, you may have difficulty seeing
the updates you just made.
Updates and web caching proxy servers
The most common cause of not seeing updates immediately after making them is that
your Internet provider or office network uses a web caching server, also known
as a proxy server.
When you visit a website from a network that uses a web caching proxy server,
the proxy server checks to see if it already has a copy of the site in its local cache. If it does,
it returns the copy to your web browser. You aren't actually connecting directly to your
website on the Korax network. If you've just updated your site, you will see the older
version of your site, as returned by the proxy server, rather than the updates on the Korax server.
Unfortunately, there's no solution to this issue. You must wait until the proxy server
on your network refreshes its cache. This may be as little as ten minutes, but could be
many hours.
Other web users that don't use proxy servers will not be affected, and will see
your changes immediately.
Refreshing your browser
Occassionally, the reason why you may not see your website updates may be as simple as
your web browser. Your browser also caches web pages locally for faster delivery to you.
Be sure to refresh your browser window to retrieve the new copy of your site from the server.
Usually, you can do this by pressing the F5 key on your keyboard, or typing the key
combination Ctrl-R. If this doesn't help, empty the browser's cache and try again.
